Frequently
Asked Questions
We have listed following many
of the frequently asked questions. If you have any others, please email
John and we will attempt
to post answers for everyone.
To establish a trading account at
most places the minimum deposit is $AUD5,000.
A contract is valued at
$US100,000. Dome trading platforms operate on a 50:1 leverage. This
means to trade 1 contract, you need $US2,000 in your account. If the AUD
is trading at 75 cents, then each contract will require you to have
$AUD2,667 in your account.
A pip or point is the measurement
used in the market. If the AUD/USD market moves from 75.00 to
75.01 cents, the market has moved 1 pip. A pip or point is worth $US10.
On the most platforms, the values are also shown in AUD, so if AUD is
trading at 75 cents, then a pip is worth $AUD13.
Profits are made by trading the
market in the direction the market is moving. As an example, if the AUD
is currently priced at 75.00 cents and you trade the market
up to 75.50 cents then you will make 50 pips or $US500. Similarly,
if the market moves against you, then you lose $US500.
How much you make is totally
dependent on you. You make the decision to enter and exit a trade.
Many traders set goals in terms of the percentage they want to make on
their account each month or year. Some traders set these goals at 1 or 2
percent. Others have much higher goals.
We encourage clients to re-sit the
course. Almost all of our clients have attended a re-sit and found it
most beneficial. A small charge is placed on a re-sit to cover catering
and venue costs. Some clients have attended the course 5 and 6 times.
